Beijing Olympics Opens Today! 0

As I’m writing this, there are just less than two hours left until the opening ceremony of the 2008 Olympics. The Olympics will officially start in Beijing at 8:08:08 on the 8/8/2008 because the number eight is considered lucky in China. Make sure you don’t miss a thing by getting your Olympics TV schedule ready.

My early tip is don’t miss the beach volleyball which is on tomorrow.

The Olympics are not without their controversies or concerns of course. There’s the uneasy politics, which hangs overhead almost as much as the thick fog/ smog. Regardless, the games still promise to be an exciting affair, and will hopefully provide you with some inspiration to get out and about yourself to increase your fitness!

More Tobacco Regulation… Time To Quit! 0

A new bill would enable the FDA to require tobacco companies to disclose the content of cigarettes, to ban sales terms such as “light,” “mild” and “low tar,” to require cigarettes to carry larger and more specific warning labels, to ban candy- and fruit-flavored cigarettes and last but not least to eliminate all marketing that seems aimed at children.

A welcome development indeed. So where does this leave the smoker? Ever more out in the cold. Go to Great Britain of course and you are not permitted to smoke anywhere indoors anymore. Time to give up smoking I say! Fortunately, I have reviewed a superb product that you can get minutes from now which can help you give up the dreaded cigarettes for good.

The Los Angeles Times website posted this article about a study which shows you need to exercise for an hour a day to lose weight!

That information is enough to make most people break into a sweat, let alone exercise every day for an hour!

But no need to panic, people. Yes, an hour every day will certainly help you lose weight, along with a sensible personalised diet plan. But it doesn’t need to be a chore. In fact, you can easily notch up an hour a day, by doing simple things as you go about your daily routine.

One fantastic little gizmo to help out with this is the exercise watch. It monitors your heart rate and you can set it to beep when you’re getting a little lazy during the day! It’s proving popular with the celebs at the moment, including Britney Spears who’s using it to get back in shape.
