Will The Android Take A Bite Of The Apple? 0

Google’s G1 phone versus Apple’s iphone. Kerrrunch! Yummy!

Or is it? Initial reactions to Google’s new phone and iphone competitor, The Android, have been generally positive, but the word on geek street is that it doesn’t quite beat it in both looks and functionality.

Even if this is the case right now, can Apple fend off the mighty Google forever? Or could the apple logo soon look a bit like this…

Personally, I’ve never liked the “Marks and Spencers” of computers (Apple). Sure they look nifty, but aren’t they just for uber-snobs? I think Google might just nibble them to the core on this one.

Gary McKinnon: Dangerous Super Hacker or Harmless Super Geek? 0

Gary McKinnon hacked into ‘top secret’ US computers in 1999. He says he was looking for information on aliens and stuff. The US were not very happy about this. They say he is the most dangerous military hacker of all time and caused thousands of dollars of damage.

Or did he just cause thousands of red faces?

How easy was it for McKinnon to hack into those computers? Embarrassingly easy. Is this the real reason why they want to make an example of him? Haven’t they got better things to do with their money than bang up a geek for 60 years?

And what is the British government up to?

Gary McKinnon is now going to the European Court of Human Rights on the grounds that the US abused the extradition process and threatened McKinnon, and that the US might try him in a military rather than civilian court.

Gary McKinnon is facing extradition to the USA under the controversial Extradition Act 2003, without any prima facie evidence or charges brought against him in a UK court. Try him here in the UK, under UK law.

We at Expert Found have decided that Gary McKinnon is an expert super uber-geek of dangerous proportions, but not an evil comic book-style techno-baddie, as the Americans seem to be labelling him.

Visit the Free Gary McKinnon website to stay up-to-date and lend your support.

Corrupt Registry 0

I can take corrupt business men; I can take corrupt politicians, but if there’s one thing I cannot stomach, it’s a corrupt registry (Oh purleeease! EF Team.)

I’m serious! Have you ever wanted to throw a computer from the top of your building and watch it smash into a little pieces? If you’ve ever had a registry corrupt warning, you’ll know that feeling. I don’t recommend doing that however. I do recommend Registry Fix however, and you can read my registry fix review here.

The Best Computer In The World 0

A keyboard where the keys are beautifully shaped to fit your fingertips. Or perhaps dinky rubbery affairs for that essential “non-slip” texture. The blissful screech of the tape loading, and the endless swearing when you had to rewind and try again. Ahhh, those were the days.

I am of course referring to the legendary Sinclair Spectrum: arguably the best computer ever in the world. It may not have had the blistering graphics capabilities of today’s machines, or the masses of memory space for programmers to fool around with, but by jimminy it had charm. And who needs more than 48k of RAM anyway? Pah!

Anyway, when I get all nostalgic like this, I often like to frequent a website dedicated to the Best Computer Magazine In The World: Your Sinclair. What a marvelous publication that was. It went on to spawn ZERO magazine for the 16 bits (I was an Atari ST man myself), and then Game Zone.

The website I’m referring to is Your Sinclair The Rock ‘N’ Roll Years. Check it out. Now excuse me while I stick on Hold My Hand Very Tightly…
